Napath Tangprapa, a sophomore Film student from Bangkok University is one of the students selected to attend Dongseo University in Busan, South Korea as an exchange student last year.
Regarding his academic experience, Napath said “My experience at Dongseo University was quite unique. This was my first time studying at an International University and the whole experience was different from when I studied in Thailand because I was studying with many international students, including Koreans in the South Korean university system.” Napath studied Animation at Dongseo University and plans to transfer 6 courses back to BU. When asked about his favorite class, Napath said “ It is hard to pick a favorite class, but I want to say International Media Propaganda. I have learnt a lot about media propaganda. I enjoyed every second of this class.
Napath also managed to get into the University’s American Football team and played in the Busan American Football Championship – the team ended up in second place and qualified for the National Championship, the biggest University American Football Tournament in South Korea. “My exchange experience was awesome”, said Napath. “I met a lot of friends both international and Korean. They made me feel like this is another home because they helped me with a lot of things. I’ve also gotten the opportunity to join the Busan Film Festival, one of the best film festivals in the world. That fulfilled my dreams and opened up my career path.”
Having played American Football since high school, Napath got the opportunity to continue his love for the sport at Dongseo University where he got recruited for the University team. “Practice with them was very hard” said Napath, “But they tried their best to help me in the game and during practice, and they accepted me as one of their teammates”.
Napath suggested “For those who want to apply for an exchange program at Dongseo University or at other places. I suggest don’t be scared to walk out of your comfort zone and try something new. There are always opportunities for you, and help is available if you feel uncomfortable. Thank you Bangkok University Study Abroad Team for giving me this precious experience that I will never forget for the rest of my life.”
